That’s why Songbird Cottage and the Green Barn are a perfect pair for creating a boutique and delightfully cute space for an intimate gathering.

 

Set within the private grounds of Songbird Retreat, Songbird Cottage has its own stunning gardens, natural pond and the majestic grace of an ancient blue gum tree with its wise old arms sweeping down to create a light-filled canopy of blue and green hues.

 

Once an artists abode, Songbird Cottage has gone through a renovation to modernise its interiors and create a luxury haven for two. With a hint of English charm, the cottage is a perfect marriage of Kiwi history and European style.

A mix of blue and green interiors set against fresh white walls create a calming indoor space that naturally flows to the outdoors through large over wall sliders and onto a partially covered deck. A 50 year old cherry tree provides dappled shade on the front lawn and is a perfect spot to say ‘I do’!

  • Several locations for the wedding ceremony, including under the canopy of the old blue gum tree, beneath the beautiful old cherry tree or venture into the grounds of Songbird Retreat Wedding Venue, use the purpose built ceremony platform overlooking the Lily Pond or pick your own unique spot

  • Natural lighting and numerous places for wedding photographs

  • Garden copper lighting focusing on the trees and foliage to create an etherial evening glow

  • The stunning ensuite bridal suite with super king sized bed and views across Songbird Retreat gardens

  • Alfresco bath for 2 and large outdoor rain shower - perfect for midnight bathing or morning pampering

  • 2mins drive or 10mins walk along a bush/river/waterfall boardwalk providing public access to sandy Matheson Bay beach for photographs under the Pohutukawas

  • Close access to the Round Lawn and a 10m x 10m marquee (optional extra)

  • Hard standing areas for catering, food truck and cute caravan bar
